FIGS - Filling In Gaps – is a private, nonprofit organization located in Raleigh, North Carolina that helps people in Wake County purchase prescription medications which they need, but do not have the money to buy. Consider how it would feel to go to your doctor for an illness and not have the money to purchase the medicine you need. Many people have this experience every day. Prescription medications are essential for curing disease and keeping people healthy—if they can afford them. Too many people cannot. The mission of FIGS is to address this problem and raise money to fill in this gap.
FIGS helps people with special needs, including children, the elderly, those without a home, and those with chronic illnesses and mental or physical disabilities. In our 25 years of existence, we have assisted more than 28,000 of our neighbors in Wake County and purchased over $1,600,000 worth of medications. We receive money from caring individuals, churches, foundations, grants and corporations. Still there is never enough money to meet the need. Please consider supporting this important effort!
FIGS has no paid staff and operates under a volunteer Board of Directors. We are a member of the North Carolina Community Foundation and the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits.
